A repair decision should come with an explanation.
Before authorizing an evaluation, discuss its scope and any diagnostic charge. A diagnostic result, a maintenance interval and a worn component answer different questions. Ask your advisor what was found, why the proposed work is recommended and what additional information is needed if the cause is still uncertain.
Review the estimate for the proposed parts and labor, the work included and any next steps that depend on further inspection. Discuss how additional findings will be communicated and approved. Confirm the expected schedule with the shop handling the vehicle; a requested visit time is not a promise that every repair will be completed that day.
